About Me
Gary Scheidegger
Founder and Owner of Accessible Digits
I was already a web developer with my own business, when in 2014 someone very dear to me lost most of his vision. I was moved when he would show me websites, saying things like, "I can't read this. It's blue on blue!" Indeed it was, and I never liked it either, but never thought that it meant some people could not read it at all. At first I was concerned that my own websites were accessible, but soon found that the subject was large enough to be its own "field", requiring its own expertise. And so Accessible Digits was born.
I often say "we" to include the testers, designers, and developers I contract with. Although testers (human and automated) find problems, I am currently the only one that judges compatibility with WCAG and ADA standards.
